WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access)

A 3G wireless communications standard evolved from CDMA, which enables mobile phones to carry new mobile multimedia services. The standard, often called UMTS, uses wider 5 MHz channels (vs. 1.25 MHz for CDMA) for increased voice traffic capacity and peak data rates of 384 kbps.
